When in doubt, use a thermometer or set a timer.

Cooking meat requires a great deal of patience. Meat thermometers can be very useful. Some general guidelines:

Beef: 20-22 minutes per pound
Ham - partially cooked: 20 minutes per pound
Ham - fully cooked: 12 minutes per pound
