Who is Alcourt?
Lots of people have wondered who or what I am. Well, that's easy enough to answer. A lot of who I am can be determined from my resume but that doesn't really answer the question of who I am outside of work. After all, despite my employer's best efforts, I still have hobbies and interests completely unrelated to work.
Since many people want to see some picture, here is the one mandatory picture.
Where's the good stuff? Who are you really?
I am quite open that Alcourt is a pseudonym. I am inherently a very private person. My real name is known to some, but usually only after I've known them for quite some time, or if I meet them in a context where I only use my real name, not my pseudonym.
Where to point you to go depends on what you are looking for. Recently, a wiki was posted to this page in order to allow for more rapid web page development. Since that was done, I've made fewer updates here, not that I ever made very many. Most people coming here are looking for stuff on the wiki or a way to contact me though.
What's with the beard? Are you some kind of Amish freak?
I like to have a beard, okay? What's with putting a razor blade to your face every morning and scraping your epidermis half off while trying desperately to remove hair that will be back by that evening, looking worse than if you just didn't worry about it for two weeks? Are you some kind of masochist? Besides, not too many amish folks I hear about working as UNIX system administrators or wearing a pager and wielding a palm pilot.
